Lately I am so much into computer music. I mean not just listening to it but also I feel like composing a few pieces. But it's hard to get started, to be really honest. My busy schedule aside, it required pretty much motivation to finally install FL studio in my computer.

Ok, I got FL Studio icon on my desktop now. I can create music directly from my mind and make it visible. FL Studio is that good.

So check it out -> FL Studio

But still, even with all the tools needed to create a music piece, I have to go through all the obstacles like geek jargons and all the difficult-to-understand settings. But this time I am serious so it's just a matter of time before I compose my first music. Man I just can't wait till that moment!!

To start things off I've tweaked my audio settings a little. Instead of Windows DirectSound drivers I'm using the ASIO4ALL, which is a free ASIO(Audio Strea
m Input Output) driver.

Why?

Good question. According to FL Help,

"ASIO drivers give the better performance in terms of CPU efficiency. ASIO is also a prerequisite for audio recording. "

And that's true. I've tested both of them(ASIO driver and DirectSound). With music playing on the background, I tried to minimize FL Studio to my taskbar. When I set to ASIO4ALL there wasn't any lag but I can hear the lag if I switch to DirectSound. It was obvious.

That's just a simple example of the differences between both drivers. Another thing I like about ASIO4ALL is the buttons to switch between Advanced and Simple mode.

Totally ingenious!

Besides that I'm thinking of getting a better sound card and headphones, despite my terrible financial status..
